The Forgotten Way is a 21 day devotional that will take you on a journey through five Biblically foundational truths. We call it “The Forgotten Way” because even though these encompass the life message of Jesus Christ and the Gospel of the Kingdom, they might seem completely new to you. This begs the question, what have we been teaching for the past 2000 years? The five declarations in their most basic form are these:
God is absolutely good, righteous, and holy, filled with love, joy, and peace.
You are made in His image and likeness. (It’s a common point of theology that Adam was made in the image an likeness of God but we are made in the image and likeness of Adam. But Colossians 3:10 and Ephesians 4:24 encourage us to put on Christ, the new man, made in the image and likeness of the One who created us. The cross and resurrection restored you to your identity and awakens the hope of your destiny.)
You have a very important journey in this life, which is to come into alignment with what the Father believes about you. God told Jeremiah, “I knew you before I formed you.” So then what did He know? What He has always known is who you really are. The purest theology imaginable is to surrender to agree with what God believes, and what he believes about you is amazing.
To see who you really are simply requires that you let go of everything you are NOT. Replacing lies with the truth is essential in knowing God intimately. Surrender is more powerful than striving.
The evidence of your authentic identity is love, joy, and peace. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy, in the Holy Spirit, and the Kingdom is with and within you.
NOTE: The Forgotten Way is NOT, emergent, NOT new age, NOT hindu, NOT buddhist, nor does this study deny the authority of Scripture or the Deity of Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father (as made clear in Acts 4:12). JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, AND BY HIM ALONE DO WE HAVE ACCESS TO AND UNION WITH THE FATHER. THE FORGOTTEN WAY AFFIRMS THE GOSPEL IN A LANGUAGE THAT WILL CHALLENGE BOTH THE HEART AND THE MIND TO KNOW GOD In a new and living way.
